I love coffee, but occasionally, it is nice to have some things different. A matcha latte is my answer to that. I love the grassy and bitter flavor that matcha gives. I also enjoy getting a matcha latte from Starbucks. But, I believe it will be much cheaper and easier to make at home. You will need a milk frother or a bamboo whisk to dissolve matcha powder. The matcha powder will clump up without anything to help it dissolve, and it won’t taste nice.
Ingredients
1 1/2 tsp of matcha powder
1/2 tsp of sugar
1/4 cup of hot water
1/2 cup of milk
Procedure
Sift the matcha powder and sugar into a cup. Add hot water and whisk until dissolved.
Steam your milk and add it to your cup.
Enjoy.
NOTES
Always sift your matcha to prevent clump. Adding sugar does help prevent it from clumping.
If you don’t have an electric milk frother, use a standard whisk. The key in this situation is to add very little water at a time. Then, add water a little while stirring until the paste forms. Continue adding water and stirring until the matcha disperses evenly.
You can use any type of sweetener or milk that you like. I often drink it with oat milk, and it is delicious.
